As the adage goes, ‘The issues are in the tissues’. Unresolved mental patterns have the ability to create tension, physical pain and dis-ease in the body. Therapeutic Yoga takes you out of the mind that created the physical tension and into the body where healing can begin.
Through the use of props, the body finds support to hold a posture which allows one to experience deeply held tensions rooted deeply within. The therapeutic process allows one to explore what arises, and to release long-held protective mechanisms that no longer serve. We will finish with a brief yoga nidra and self-review to bring clarity and closure to the experience.
In this 3 part series, each class will have a brief focus on a specific key of Therapeutic Yoga. Each class is approximately 1 hour and 45 mins in length.

With more than 11 years of teaching experience, Kavita is certified through the Amrit Yoga Institute Level 2 Teacher Certification. She has been certified in Pilates Mat through the YMCA. She received transmission of the Incan Muna Ki shamanic teachings as given to Dr. Alberto Villeldo as 5th generation through friend and mentor Bhakti Prem. Kavita regards the movement of the body intrinsic to the releasing of emotional blockages within the psyche, freeing the mind for a deeper meditative experience.
