Chanting mantra is an important part of a complete yoga practice. In most of our classes, we generally chant at least one of the following mantras:

Mrityorma Amritam Gamaya
Translation
Lead me from the unreal to the real
Lead me from darkness to light
Lead me from time-bound consciousness; to a timeless state of Being.

Guru Mantra
Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu
Guru Devo Maheswara
Guru Saaksaat Param Brahma
Tasmai Shri Guruve Namaha
Translation
Guru (teacher) is Brahma (who plants the qualities of goodness)
Guru is Vishnu (Who nurtures and fosters the qualities of goodness)
Guru is Maheswara – Shiva (Who weeds out the bad quality)
Guru is Supreme Brahman itself
