Presented by Kavita Lori Richardson & Radha Arena
Every year at this time we pause to reflect upon and honor the memory of the man whose absolute devotion to his guru, and to the practice of Love has been the guiding light of our Lineage – our beloved Bapuji. It is solely through Bapuji that Dadaji/Lord Lakulish brought anew the ancient teachings of Pranotthana as a complete system of the practice of yoga that has come to us as Amrit Yoga & Kripalu Yoga.
This evening we will experience the Yoga of Devotion through Kirtan, readings from Bapuji’s writings, meditation and prana exploration, and a Puja ceremony to honor the Lineage of Light that we are all part of. Ceremonial whites or festive garb recommended.
Upon the conclusion of the ceremony, as always, we enjoy a repast and each others company. In the past we have either gone out to a restaurant, or brought restaurant food in. However, this year we have not only the beautiful chanting of Radha Arena, but we also have her fabulous cooking to look forward to and enjoy! Radha has especially selected foods that Mataji would have made for Bapuji during his 3 & 1/4 year stay here in the US. (This menu is vegan except for * which has dairy in it.)
- Gujarati-style dal
- Cumin rice
- Homemade Naan
- Utthapam (gluten-free rice & lentil pancake)
- Vegetable curry
- Cucumber raita*
- Chutney made from fresh seasonal fruit
- Cauliflower pakora
- Basmati rice pudding made with coconut milk and scented with cardamom
- Spiced ginger tea
We hope you will join us for this very special evening. Please confirm your space for dinner with payment by January 2, 2013.
Working within the framework of Amrit Yoga principles, Lori Kavita Richardson excels at teaching fundamental movement through her exploration of various paths of movement including: Pilates, Belly dance, Chi gong; and diverse paths of yoga such as Vini yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa and Kundalini yoga. In allowing these practices to “blur”, she brings a highly integrated practice to her teaching. Her Prenatal/Postnatal practices are self-developed; from informed study, but mostly from a personal desire to bring knowledge and ease to women approaching the birth experience and beyond.
Radha Arena is a passionate and devoted spiritual practitioner, nanny and chef. She has spent much of her life on a spiritual path, which has moved her gracefully towards many beautifully enriching experiences. Living at Kripalu over 20 years ago was an inspirational catalyst for her practice, which served to deeply motivate her to continue on the Path. Radha was the chef at the Amrit Yoga Institute in Salt Springs, FL before moving to the ISKCON Temple in Alachua, FL where the devotees of this Ancient Bhakti (devotional) tradition shared the secrets of Indian cooking.
