Katherine is a certified Amrit Level I Yoga Instructor (RYT 200- Amrit Level I), currently in her Thai Bodywork training and a Reiki Master. Her interest and studies in holistic health and yoga have given her the opportunity to find her true path and passion in life. Through the study of Thai Bodywork and different healing modalities she wishes to expand her knowledge and the ability to help a greater group of people find soothing ways to release stress, and anxiety, among other causes of disease by helping them with relaxing methods with the purpose of bringing a healthy outlook, happiness and peace into their lives.
Katherine has practiced Amrit Yoga and Kundalini Yoga since 2008. One of the biggest breakthroughs in her practice and personal life was when she received the transmission of the Incan Munay-Ki Shamanic Rites of the Laika in 2011 by our beloved teacher Lori (Kavita) Richardson. After this breakthrough she began to lift the veil about her deeply hidden inner passions and her love for humanity. It was only after this initiation and rite of passage that the healer and humanitarian began to emerge. But it was during the Level I Amrit Yoga Teacher training in 2013 that she began the journey of uncovered her true essence and her path as a yogi. She states that, “The journey of learning is never truly over until the last dying breath and even then, it remains in question.”
Katherine has a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and Legal Studies from Bryant University 2005. As a yoga instructor, she intends on sharing all her knowledge and wisdom as she continues to grow in her yoga practice and extending it in ways that can help others by using the Amrit principles, meditation and creative ways that will assist her student’s growth and development as yogis.
Question & Answer
What should I wear?
Loose comfortable clothing. The same you would wear to a yoga class. The session is done fully clothed. If you will be enjoying an Herbal Treatment please wear dark shorts and sleeveless shirt.
Can I eat ahead of time?
I recommend not eating anything heavy 1 hour before your appointment.
I’m not flexible or I have an injury, can I still attend a session?
Yes, Thai Yoga Therapy is designed to work for almost any body type. It will assist in the bodies flexibility and aid in the healing process. Modifications can be done for most injuries, please contact therapist for more information if you have an injury and inform her of that injury.
Why would a yoga practitioner try Thai Yoga Therapy?
~The benefits of Thai Yoga Therapy to a Yoga practitioner are that the client can experience the deep stretches from poses that would be difficult for them to achieve without assistance due to the years it may take to develop the strength, balance and flexibility to perform the pose in a solo yoga practice. Because theses stretches are deeper, it enhances one’s ability to practice solo on the mat.
