Where Western Medicine tends to focus on disease, Traditional Chinese Medicine focuses on the whole person. A complete and thorough individual health history is obtained followed by an Oriental medical examination. The Oriental medical examination includes feeling the pulse, looking at the tongue, and palpating the hare (abdomen). The information gathered allows the practitioner to define a specific pattern of imbalance unique to each person. Acupuncture is safe, simple, and very effective. The needles are sterile, individually packaged and disposed of after each use. Although a variety of sensations, such as tingling and warmth, may be experienced during needle insertion, the treatment itself is very peaceful and relaxing. Length and frequency of treatments vary based on each individual’s unique health profile.
