Cancellation Policy: If a class or workshop is canceled, there will be an announcement on our voice mail a minimum of one hour before the scheduled class.  In addition, if there is a parking ban in Cranston, Santosha will be closed.

Monday

5:30-6:45pm Level I Amrit Nitya

In this class, Nitya takes students through the entire Level I Amrit Yoga 26-posture Sequence. With continued practice, this sequence is specifically designed to lead students into a deeper experience of integration. Intentionally repeating this sequence is similar to chanting a mantra repeatedly…it focuses the mind so that the body can relax fully. Not suitable for beginners.

7:00-8:30pm Yoga & Yoga Nidra Heather

Join us for a complete journey into the practice of Amrit Yoga. This class guides you through multiple levels of authentic yoga by combining 45 minutes of asana practice with 45 minutes of guided meditation. Welcome to all levels, you will learn different breathing techniques, meditation, yoga postures, and teachings to help you reconnect with yourself and Spirit.

Tuesday

6:15-7:45 am Amrit Sadhana Jaya

The intention of Jaya’s morning Sadhana session is to create a space for you to develop a deeper connection with your personal practice.  Join Jaya for a morning of movement, meditation and devotion through Amrit Yoga.

5:45-7:15pm Kundalini Yoga Sat Siri Kaur

Kundalini Yoga is a practice of innovative yoga techniques that prompts increased blood flow and healing energy to address a wide range of issues and challenges. While many of the same elements are combined, each class focuses on a specific healing technology to induce profound emotional and physical changes that produce particular results – such as increased immunity, mental clarity, or harmony. For this reason, each class is totally unique.

7:30-8:45pm Beginner Amrit Yoga Amy

Come to this class not only to learn the postures, but to also gain a greater understanding of the body, mind and spirit. Learn to focus your awareness throughout your practice and quiet the “mind-chatter” that often rules our lives. This class is open to beginners of all levels, and even to more experienced students who would like to refine their practice.

Wednesday

9:00-10:30am Kundalini Yoga Sat Siri Kaur

Begin your day with the Yoga of Awareness, Kundalini Yoga, the technology for the fully sensory human! Each class will include warm-ups, a kriya (a set of exercises for a particular purpose), a long relaxation, and a meditation. You will leave with a heightened sense of awareness accompanied by a sense of well-being. No prior yoga experience is required: Kundalini Yoga classes are designed to serve both the first-time yoga student and the accomplished practitioner living a yogic lifestyle. The beauty of Kundalini Yoga is that it meets you where you are and takes you where you want to go. Come! Begin your day with us, and experience for yourself the Yoga of Awareness: Kundalini Yoga! Become the fully sensory human you are meant to be!

5:00-5:45pm Pranayama & Meditation
Kavita

An opportunity to practice the Royal, or Raja aspect of the 8-limbed path. This 45-minute class focuses on using breath techniques to engage a meditation practice. This time offers the practitioner the opportunity to observe a mindful practice; a chance to disengage from aspects of life that create disharmony in one’s life, and instead replace that with life-affirming energy. A few gentle postures may be given to facilitate ease and comfort, and meditation-in-motion can be practiced according to the practitioner’s desire.

6:00-7:30pm Forrest Yoga (All Levels) Kristen

Forrest Yoga was created by Ana Forrest and specifically designed to address physical
and emotional stresses and challenges that are housed within our bodies. What makes
Forrest Yoga unique is the methodically created pose sequences that are taught with a
compassion to develop and nurture the skills that awaken each of the body’s senses.
To do this the Forrest Yoga teacher brings each student to a depth of breath and feeling
that penetrates every cell of their body. Strength and flexibility are not requirements
to do Forrest Yoga. All one needs to do Forrest Yoga is to “bring a willingness to learn
how to feel authentically and respond honestly.” “Forrest Yoga teaches you how to Go

7:00-8:15am Tranquil Yoga Joanne

Wake up, energize the body, mind and spirit before going to work. This class is designed for those seeking a gentle but focused experience in their practice. What better way to start the day than by stretching out, feeling the fullness of your body, mind and heart before you enter the busyness of the day. Come in to try it out.

9:30-10:45am Gentle Yoga Heather

This class was designed to bring attention to each part of one’s experience. Attention is given to the body, mind and spirit and as this attention grows, healing can be discovered. Healing through physical stretching of the body, techniques to calm the mind, and compassion for oneself exactly as they are. Modifications are given to support a variety of needs. All levels are welcome.

7:00-8:30pm Posture Clinic (1st Thursday) Nitya

In this class, we will explore various aspects of the asanas (postures) and learn how to find the optimal alignment for individual bodies. Each body has restrictions (whether they be physical, mental or emotional) that can present themselves in many ways. The intention behind this class is for the student to begin to understand the posture more deeply, not only in its form and structure, but how it applies to their body specifically. It is through this understanding that the student can discover how to navigate the pose to effectively open the body on both the physical and energetic (pranic) levels.

7:00-8:30pm Yoga Nidra (2nd Thursday) Heather

Where Shavasana ends Yoga Nidra begins…The literal translation of Yoga Nidra is Yogic Sleep. It is an ancient form of meditation that will take you into the deepest levels of relaxation while still remaining fully aware. As you progressively enter into deeper levels of yoga nidra you become more relaxed, integrated, expansive and present which will be taken into your everyday life.

Friday

9:00-10:15am Eclectic Yoga Karina

An eclectic melding of Kripalu, viniyoga, vinyasa, and restorative yoga and Buddhist meditation will shake up your practice with new techniques, offering practices appropriate for dynamic unfolding. An emphasis on nonviolence in body and mind will be supported by mindfulness and breath awareness.

7:30-8:30pm CommUnity Yoga (4th Friday) Rotating

Come join the Santosha CommUnity for a Complimentary (or by donation) One Hour Yoga Class! This class will be taught by a rotation of not only Santosha’s staff of teachers, but our extended community of trained teachers & friends. The class could consist of Yoga asana (postures), Yoga Nidra, Pranayama or perhaps a surprise combination! Bring yourSelf, an Open Heart & Mind and be willing to share in our beautiful Sangha. Open to all levels of experience. Bring a friend to share in the fun.

10:45-12:15pm Beginner Yoga Kavita

Stretch and strengthen not only the body, but the mind and spirit. Learn to focus your awareness throughout your practice and quiet the “mind-chatter” that often rules our lives. In this class, you will also learn about yogic philosophy and scripture and how these ideas apply to your daily life. This class is open to beginners of all levels, and even to more experienced students who would like to refine their practice.

Sunday

8:00-9:15am Meditation in Motion Meena

This class is designed to help practitioners through guided meditation, pranayama and the holding of postures. Furthermore, this class will help you to release blockages in the body and mind and allow the pranic energy to move more freely within and around you. Meena will help you immerse yourself into a spiritual practice of yoga.

10:00-11:30am Balancing Yoga Kathleen

Amrit Yoga Class incorporating Hatha yoga postures for all levels focusing on alignment of body-mind-breath-spirit. Class begins with a seated meditation transitioning to Asana postures practiced to increase self-awareness, strength, focus, peace of mind. You are welcome to participate, explore, relax, enjoy a lovely yoga class with a wonderful group of people. The students make the class…so come in and create something beautiful!

5:30-6:30 pm Nia Kelly Fenton

The Nia technique is a high-energy, expressive dance practice that combines elements of Modern, Jazz and Duncan dance; martial arts, and yoga. Nia engages body, mind and spirit to deliver a fantastic whole-body workout – sweaty, creative, rhythmic and FUN!
